Poetry Out Loud is a national poem recitation competition. Students in grades nine to 12 memorize two poems and are judged on their delivery. The school winner advances to a regional competition. The next levels are state and national competitions.  Marysville judging will be December 16, 17, and 18 during AEP. If you are interested, please talk to Mr. Friedrichs. COUNSELOR:  

Mrs. Behrens and Ms. Busch will plan to meet with all Seniors on Dec. 10th during AEP (location to be determined).  We will be discussing scholarships, FAFSA, college applications, etc.

 

Students who need to enroll in Concurrent classes through Highland will need to get registered before break.  If you do not have a MYHCC account or need assistance, please visit with Ms. Busch.  These courses could include: an online class, College Algebra, Trigonometry, Statistics, Adv. Biology, Speech, and/or Adv. Comp. II.

 

Students wanting to change their second semester courses will need to see Ms. Busch.  Students will have until Jan. 7th at 4:00p.m. to change classes.

 

Seniors, please be checking your emails as Mrs. Behrens and Ms. Busch send numerous emails regarding various scholarship opportunities on a local, state, or national level.

 

Students who notified Ms. Busch will be taking the ASVAB on Dec. 9th at 9:00a.m.  

 

The deadline to register for the Feb. 6th ACT is January 8th.

Announcements from Mrs. Behrens:

Seniors:

South East Community College:  As a reminder, the SCC Scholarship Application for high school seniors is open December 1st – March 1st.  Students can complete the scholarship application at https://www.southeast.edu/scholarships/.  If you are interested in setting up a conference with one of their admissions staff for additional help please ask Mrs. Behrens for details.

Kansas University:  The Jon T. Eicholtz and Barbara Eden Acting Scholarship is available for the Fall of 2021 to first-year students entering the University of Kansas, who would otherwise not consider majoring in theatre without the financial assistance of this renewable scholarship. 

  • The Eicholtz and Eden Scholarship provides one undergraduate scholarship (in-state tuition only, fees, books, typical residence hall room and board) to a first-year student entering the University of Kansas. The scholarship will be awarded through an audition and application process.

1) The Good Witch's annual Toy Giveaway is December 11th from 9am-7pm and December 12th from 9am-2pm at Lincoln Center.  Volunteers are needed!  Please contact Mrs. Crome for more information.
