November 15 is recognized by FBLA-PBL each year as American Enterprise Day. Marysville FBLA salutes our local businesses, and we thank them for everything they do to support our community!
There will be an open gym at MES for any female wanting to play basketball on the following dates:
November 2-4 - 3:50 - 4:50
November 5 - 4:15 - 5:15
There will be a team meeting for anyone interested in playing girls basketball on Thursday, November 5th at 3:40 in the cafeteria.

Deadline to register for the December ACT is November 20th
New CNA class for the Western Center in Baileyville. This class will be November 9 to December 7. Every Monday and Tuesday from 4-9p.m.
Any students who will be taking Concurrent courses or Online courses through Highland can now enroll. Spring 2021 Online Enrollment is open. If you need assistance, please visit with Ms. Busch. Do not wait until the last minute to enroll or pay for courses.
Login to myHCC to begin the enrollment process.
Mrs. Behrens and Ms. Busch met with all Seniors to discuss college enrollment, FAFSA, and scholarships. Please, advise us if you need additional information. Print off local scholarship listings.

Any student in grades 7-12 that has engaged in a volunteer activity can complete an application for the Prudential Spirit of Community Award. Application information available in Ms. Busch's Office.
Any Juniors or Seniors interested in applying for the 2020 State Masonic Public Essay Contest can stop by Ms. Busch's Office for application information. Deadline to apply is Nov. 1st

Kansas City Associated Equipment Distributors has a scholarship available for students with an interest in pursuing a post-secondary education in the areas of Heavy Equipment and Diesel Engine Repair. Scholarship application due by Feb. 1

College Visits: Virtual or On-Campus - Ask Mrs. Behrens about getting a college visit set up whether it is virtually or on-campus (available for some schools).
Seniors:
Rudd Scholarship: Helps eligible candidates attend Emporia State University, Fort Hays State University, or Wichita State University.

Wichita State: has received a generous donation from Gene and Yolanda Camarena to offer 20 renewable scholarships to students who are of Black and/or Hispanic/Latino heritage!
Scholarship Breakdown:
$8,000-$20,000 for new freshman
$4,000-$10,000 for new transfer students
*Scholarships are stackable for students who receive a Freshman/Transfer Merit Scholarship
To be eligible to compete, students must:
Be a 2021 high school graduate or new incoming transfer student with at least 12 transfer credit hours
Submit Wichita State application for admission and scholarship materials by December 1
Meet the following criteria:
Have a minimum unweighted 3.00 GPA
Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) by December 1
For students ineligible to complete a FAFSA, please submit a need statement that speaks to the financial need for scholarship assistance
Have a resume built and ready to upload at the application site
Deadline:
Shocker Adelante Scholars applications are due December 1, 2020.

Washburn:
November 9th Information Session
Students will have the opportunity to hear very brief presentations – including on available scholarships – from some of Washburn’s most distinctive programs. We’ve selected our participants carefully so that any student, regardless of interest, is likely to find something for them. Current students will be available for questions and to share their experiences.

The event will be coordinated by Washburn University’s Office of Admissions and will take place Monday, November 9th from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM. It is our hope that students will benefit from the scholarship information being offered, as well as from the connections made with our outstanding faculty!

Community In Schools:
1) If any students have concerns about internet availability at home, please have their parents reach out to me. There are still several organizations with CARES ACT money to help with this.
2) Blue Valley Giving Tree applications can be picked up at Lincoln Center. Due date is November 13th.
3) PEPC is looking for school clubs to volunteer for the Salvation Army bell ringing at Walmart this holiday season. To sign up, please call or text April Todd at 785-713-1615.
4) The Good Witch's annual Toy Giveaway is December 11th from 9am-7pm and December 12th from 9am-2pm at Lincoln Center. Volunteers are needed! Please contact Mrs. Crome for more information.
