A previous Marshall county resident, Melissa Kennedy spent 24 of her 27 years in education in neighboring USD 380. She served as an elementary teacher for 21 years in Frankfort before advancing to the Curriculum Director position serving both Frankfort and Centralia schools. In 2017 she began her current term as the Buhler Grade School principal for USD 313 in Buhler, Kansas. Melissa is a graduate of Nemaha Valley High School, Kansas State University, and Fort Hays State University, and a native of Seneca, Kansas. Melissa and her late husband, Michael, have three grown children and two grandchildren.
